As I write this, I am dying. It may seem funny, but reaching the temperatures we had today is no joke, and I bet tonight’s weather isn’t gonna help me sleep.
Walking from the metro to my residence (3 minute walk) was pretty much like walking on the desert. At 19:30 we were 41ºC. FORTY ONE DEGREES! That’s hot, really hot, especially in Madrid, where it’s even worse than dealing with it in the coast.
And now, after dinner and a cold shower, I’m already with sweaty hands and my tongue out. I hope it gets colder by tonight, or I’ll be writing another post at 03:00AM
In summer, temperatures are the most popular news on TV in Spain. Maybe because they have many empty time and have to fill it with anything.
ReplyDeleteThey speak about some cities (like Sevilla) that reach 43ºC, or about people that forget their pets in the car and die of heat, or about people that die in the swimming pool, or about hidratation and health advices.
These news could be interesting, but they are not so much when they are repeated everyday... After all it is only the temperature.
OK, fine I guess is not so much of a deal anyways but still, 41º is quite a lot and I don't remember the temperature being so high last summer (not in June, that's for sure)
ReplyDeleteHah! You wait. It's gonna get hotter. I had a look at some averages... check it out:
